They are screwing the old guys, senior Drivers.... They are screwing the future drivers on pay... Seriously, what makes you think they're not coming to take more from us Drivers in the Safe zone? Like the other guy said, we all see things differently.

    Oh man -

I waited several years to apply to drive for Walmart...and now that I'm in the hiring process, I'm not sure it's a wise choice to leave my current job.

I've read this forum and some others for about a year now....good info...but now I may turn the offer down.....any thoughts ?

( I have a decent driving job but would never make $80,000 )

The older drivers are going to have to make a decision, and no one is sure about the new pay package yet. If you don't think some of these guys have been milking the cow for years may get a little dose of reality I don't know what to tell you, look if you want it to stay the way it is currently they aren't going to keep the private fleet.......i know I know Sam this Sam that, he's dead and gone. Sorry new world. Whether you want to debate the new management style or not that's a separate agreement. The way drivers work at Wal-Mart is gonna change some will not like it, but there's always options for well qualified drivers.

For now I'd like to keep that info private...but it's a decent job but Walmart looked better...but with the recent pay changes as noted here...I'm questioning my move...

Do you like your current job? Are you financially stable there? Do you enjoy your time off/home time? Do you have your own assigned truck? Do you hate slip seating? Answer these questions and you'll have your own answer

    foggy Thanks this.

Thats why I'm asking to know what you have now. Not the company name. What are you making, local job, how many hours you put in . Vacation package, do you work weekends. Etc

You sound envious of what those drivers had, & happy they're losing it. Just remember those guys piut in their time to get those gravy set runs. That could've been you eventually. Now , you can pound Sand for all they care.

I'm happy those guys have whatever they have now, do I want them to keep it if it means I don't have a job here? No. They will change or they won't have a job here, one way or another. Whole industry has changed and some don't want to acknowledge it.

Thanks for the input. I've weighed these details even before the changes were implemented....( or planned to be ), before it seemed like a good gig with WMT....maybe not so now.....bummer for me. I should have joined when times were good I suppose.
