Also,Patty,if you look at the video,the bridge isn't very long so the truck is never fully on the bridge.
So the bridge only has to carry half the weight.

ps there's a good chance he will unload a big part off his load when he is in the valley,before he hits the public roads.

I think that type of trailer is pretty common in some parts
of the world......steerable trailer axles to navigate narrow roads.


I wonder how much it costs to buy that option? The oversize
load trailers in the States use a separate power unit to power
the hydraulics for the trailer. Wonder why a person couldn't use
a "wet kit" on the truck to power that?

The cylinders, hoses, etc are likely not to terrible expensive.
Basically all that it takes is some type of pivot assembly that allows
the "axle group" to rotate and a hydraulic cylinder that does the
actual rotating, some type of remote control hydraulic valve to send
oil to the cylinder.....

 

The steering runs off the electric system.

Because there is just a little oil in a steering system,you use a small reservoir and a electric pump like a tailgate lift.
