    Update:
I passed my road test :D:D and have begun the hiring process with R+L. Just awaiting final approval for hire from corporate. Then physical, drug screen, road test and then I will begin training.
I'm so excited to get started!!
On another note, we've been getting a lot of negativity about husband/wife teaming. "Its going to ruin your marriage" "You'll end up hating each other" etc etc...
Do you get comments like these? How do you and your wife respond to comments like these? It really annoys me!!

Great to hear you made it through school and that you are about to start teaming with RL.
We hear those comments alot. We tell them that we actually like each other. We love being together. Yes we have our problems but we have always worked them out. If it gets too bad slam the curtain lol. We've come to realize that most of it is jealousy because of money. They do not like the fact we have twice the money and then some going into one account. I honestly think some don't like their spouse. Hell in the deep South you will hear that you are taking a job from a man and should stay home so another man can support his family. This has actually been said to my wife several times on the cb. Texas and Arkansas seem to be full of insecure men.

Wow! I'd tell them to take the pacifiers out of their mouth and grow up! This ain't the 18th century! My husband and I like each other too and love being together so I think it's going to work out just fine!

It's been 3 years now. We are still here and still happy. The meet driver we were meeting wwnt to days. The new meet driver is younger and insist on original turn point for the run. Its 70 miles less for us each way and run pay is 352 for 508 miles. At first we thought we'd hate it but now we get 5 to 6 hrs at home every night. We now gross 1760 each. Can't complain. Home every day and 2 full days is unheard of in team driving. We are really happy and still want to retire here. The new meet guy is on time every day. The old driver was never on time. Found out night driving was making him tired and that's why he came off the run. For now it's like clockwork and hope it stays like that. Our pay rate dropped a little but not too bad.

BTW we found out we were at 100percent pay after our2 year anniversary. Teams top out after 2 years. Solo takes 3 years to top out. Teams start at 91% then 94%after 90 days 97%after 1 yr and full after 2yrs. Hope this helps

Ask them how they know so much about it. Say, "Did it ruin your marriage?" They've probably never teamed with their spouse.

Undoubtedly the best post I've read thus far on this site. IndianaMike, thanks for the incredible insight and information along the way. I'm headed to CDL school soon and looking forward to getting on the road. Because of you R&L is on the radar and in my top 10 for research at this stage.

I never understood how you can maintain a relationship without either or both resorting to weird phone calls or cheating on a normal OTR schedule anyway...4 days home a month & most stay out longer then that.

I've never had a better time with the missus then when we are together; the occasional stress proves your love in times of adversity & the arguments make for better 'make up' sessions.
