Make sure you have a gallon of bleach it'll heat the rubber when your tires freeze to the parking lot if you can't get them dried off when you park eventually.

Wake me up after chain law is lifted. Chain time is nap time. I leave the chaining to the Super truckers
tman78, driverdriver, 4mer trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
While labor intensive and messy at times, chaining is no big deal. When driving, remember that slow and steady wins the race.
And if you get a chance, use the socks. Time and back savers, they are. But please note: they are for dry snow and ice, not for slushy conditions. You get them in heavy slush, they'll fill with slush and walk right off the tire.Dan.S Thanks this. -
Chaining is not terribly difficult but there is a process and it must be done properly, or else you'll be the one losing chains all up and down Donner. It takes practice and repetition before it will become "easy". That may not be the answer you're looking for but it's the answer.
Search "chain" or "chaining" here in the forum titles in , there's several lengthy threads on the subject. Some created just the last few days.
I can not fathom the notion some just literally sit waiting on chain restrictions to lift. That's nuts if you have a family to feed and are indeed a trucker. "Truckers" move freight from point A to B. Period. There are a few times it might be worth waiting, but they are far and few between. If you can't or won't chain, stay home or drive in the south and leave my money-making freight lanes alone.Last edited: Nov 24, 2017

And better yet if someone is hurting that bad for money that they have to chain to feed their family maybe the need to seek better money management practices.
dedwarmo Thanks this. -
It's not about the money, it's about the challenge. It is the same reason people climb the highest mountains and swim across the oceans and hike across the deserts.
Some people like to live their time to the fullest and others like to lie down on the couch and watch other people living life to the fullest on their big screen tv.dedwarmo, QuietStorm, Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this. -
