The actual hearing is not difficult if you had one ear to do it.

The requirements is 40db at 500 hertz, 1000 and 2000. Done. There are two tests for the hearing side, one is the whisper test where the doc will ask you a question like what color is your shirt from behind you. The second is a formal chart building with a proper audiologist in a sound proof booth with tones fired at you in both frequency and db strength.

I am actually born three months premature in the 60's below a weight specific to life as a chance given by the doc, I think the cut off was 500 grams I weighed in about 420 or so. The incubator over 5 months built that to 4.5 pounds. Enough to go home and learn to eat basic food such as cut lamb meat and a form of cream potato. I still have the calander and diet weigh progress from that first three months at home in my safe.

because of the explosive growth from being below weight the nerves in the ears only grew at one speed. Ergo, I am hard of hearing. Now... deaf people do NOT have freedom outside of institutions up until right around 1978. Where there were reforms done. In fact, I was for the first 6 years of my life a future ward of the state at the mental hospital as soon I got big enough for state doctors to certify my pernament mental illness. However, one doctor realized as i played with toys in a corner of his room, I knew my name etc and he called me. Then did it in a loud enough voice. Bingo Yes doctor?

Mental health went away, education started that year with a new langauge then built on that towards freedom. Hearing aids were paid for by the state via Johns Hopkins in Baltimore a while. I can go on. But I dont need to.

The general result was when my family, at that time about 300 discovered i graduated with a class A for trucking and getting ready to start running loads on the actual highway etc, half displayed discrimination beause to that generation deaf people do nothing. Much less trucking. Period.

They died with those prejudices. That died about 3 generations ago.

And so... deaf can drive. whoo hoo. big deal. A monkey can drive. Or a computer robot.

Resisting a doc is one thing. If there is any flaw in your nervous system or muscles that doc will find it that way. and then trace it.

I went to a nuerosurgeon for a while who was spending time examining my own body after my last big delivery in 2001 resulted in a what I would call a locked body. 6 months of heat applied in physical therapy that year unlocked the body and revealed some damage. PT is not a valid solution for me anymore. However they are more than happy to apply heat.

I think that Nuerosurgen did a great help boosting our quality of life. I went from sitting on our porch to doing honey do jobs, cutting trees and cutting grass etc. among other things.

Yes they do. In my time I paid. Or they took it out of the check, same thing.

There is a particular process that is like a loop within a loop within a maze you have to carefully follow the exact policy for reimbursement of those cursed fees. I write everything down, there is a 30 dollar epson scanner/printer shoved in a corner to make copies of actual BOL, lumper reciept etc. Comchcecks with the numebrs and everything. Throw all that at the payroll and demand pay me.

    Sometimes they don't

You find another company with no lumpers. Ergo, flat bed, tanker etc.

Yeah, I've lost some hearing over the years, pneumatic tools are loud. Especially after 30 years+ of listening to them up close.

Well no problem getting my dot med card. Told the doc about the gabapentin, Not a problem at all for neuropathy. I did fail the vision test. I have mono vision contacts, one is for distance and one is for reading. I had to go get a different lens to see. Back to having readers.

Gabapentin is a good drug. It treats neurological issues like you said, and others use it for anxiety. It has no side effects unless egregiously abused.

I used to work the docks 25 years ago and I was young. You had to pay me 200 bucks or maybe a tad more. cant remember the specific amount, to unload the whole truck of 50-80 pound boxes of beef. Take me about 2 hours to get that stuff on pallets. I made a lot of money from guys that came in from prime and etc. On top of my hourly wage.

Sure, we settled it. I don't have a problem with it. As I stated some would.

Snow flakes have gotten pretty sensitive growing up in this wonderful 21st century of what is supposed to be a modern living.

I hope they bury me deep when Im gone. They will need it. he he he.
