No experience, bad ticket, under 25 years old. Might want to look for a different job for the next 2 years

Still it's a good idea to get CDL now, in a couple of years insurance companies will look at you as experienced driver

Thank you for the honest advice! I haven't yet enrolled in cdl school and part of the reason I posted this was to see if it would be better for me to wait to enroll (for at least a couple of years) when my MRV & age will look better to potential employers.

You best be careful. There are many small towns that are legitimate speed traps. There has been a few here in Arkansas that are being sanctioned by the state police for reducing or omitting certain speed limit signs either too quickly or not having one in a particular spot.

I remember one in Ohio where there was a stop light over a little used rail in the pavement. You stopped at the light, hung the trailer over the tracks and the law hiding in the used car lot at that light writes you a ticket.

Littlestown PA on a two lane state road has a 55 mph on top of what i consider to be around a 6% grade into town downhill. At the bottom lies the first city block, school zone and 20 mph limit. They usually get someone several times a day there.

15 over is bad enough to dismiss you from employment or even bar rehire for a while, but not the end of the world. If it is in Maryland and you are doing say 20 over 70 which makes it 90+ that's arrestable. Not just a ticket. I should know... lol. (Thank you MSP.... not.) if you have a fast car, get rid of it.

You would think most big trucks on governor cannot possibly speed. But you will be surprised again at how many small towns take advantage.

The only way to really find out is go and apply at a Transport company, check out there recruitment web site it will usually stipulate what conditions need to be met.

Question is,, did you go to the Court and see if you could plead it down? Too late now though... Once you get a CDL you cannot do any Driving schools to lessor tickets.. called Anti-Masking.

I've been working extremely hard on keeping my speed reasonable & obeying all traffic laws since i received my ticket. I understand that police can be crafty with their use of speed traps but I'm definitely going to make sure that I don't ever receive another ticket like that again!

    Thank you for the advice!!

I didn't go to court. I've since read that it's recommended that you go to court to try and fight the ticket if you plan on obtaining a CDL (or if you already have one)..Unfortunately I didn't realize that at the time time so I'm just stuck with the ticket..
