Rule 1 - get a ticket see a lawyer... once you paid the ticket you are admitting guilt. Lawyer may cost, but the premiums and points not on your bank account and license is worth it.

You got a ticket for 19 over and didn't go to court, how did you get away with it not being a reckless charge? When was the last time you looked at your MVR record? I would suggest visiting some carriers websites and see what their qualifications are.

I once got (Before CDL) a ticket for improper lane change, the folks in the middle lane were about 200 feet behind me and I signaled, looked, then started to move to the middle lane... stopped bus ahead of me...

I gently touched their vehicle with the black rubber molding on my blazers front bumper.. theirs was a junk yard car... the 2 foot black stripe added some class to it... my molding was just glazed... my two kids and wife were sleeping.. note sleeping... we pulled off the road and into a parking lot... 4 adults in the other car... They speeded up just so I would tap their car.

When I was going to court, that day the court's building power went out. So, I stopped by a lawyers office.. not a big issue on the ticket... wrong!!!... the lawyer said if I paid it, then I was admitting guilt and they could take me to civil court for damages...

So my insurance went up, the 4 adults all had whiplash the same day from a slight tap on the passenger front fender... no vehicles were smashed into each other.. both continued along at about 35 till we pulled over.

so for a year my insurance (The lizard), paid for medical,, although all in my car were fine. did not wake up the other 3 at all. They paid to have their car repainted... remember it was about 15 colors already,,, my insurance went up $500 a year for about 5 years...

I had pictures,, but the insurance said cheaper to pay them what they want than to fight it....

So, if you pay your ticket and others are involved, you can be taken to civil court and they would win, since you admitted guilt by paying the ticket...

Never never never ever go into court without a lawyer, period. Unless its a parking ticket. 10 grand to get a felony down to a misdemeanor, but worth every penny. Stupid crap you do when you're young.

That's a really fresh ticket for a huge no no red flag with trucking companies. You may get hired but probably not by a company you would want to work for. Has this ticket appeared on your mvr?

If so, you must disclose it to the company you are applying to. It's a big deal.

Yes the ticket does appear on my mvr and I would definitely make sure to disclose this to any potential employer.

In your opinion, do you think it would be a lot better to wait 2 or 3 years to go to cdl school? Do you think I'd be wasting my time to try and do it now?
