Hi. It doesn’t to try and just apply and see what happens.

Worst case like others said you wait two more years and you should be good.

One other thing you can try is go talk to the judge in your district. Explain what you want to do and that it will never happen again. I’ve read that sometimes they will take the ticket off your driving report.

    Keep us updated. Good luck.

That's the impression I'm starting to get, I'll look into the pre-hire and see if that can get me anywhere but if not, I'm ok with waiting for a couple of years. I'd like to start schooling now but it certainly isn't the worst thing in the world if it has to wait a little longer.

That's super interesting advice about contacting a judge. I'm definitely going to look into that further..

Thank you so much for the advice! :)

This is for ANY ticket...protect your CDL when you get it!...
I was ticketed for 141 in a 55....I used to street race..I got several charges against me including careless and reckless.
1500 bucks later my attorney had that ticket dismissed!

@SplashDogs - great to hear that stay focused on your current job use to be fun & and great money out here it's getting a little better if your single it's a great living can see alot of beautiful places out here I know some companies will look the other way but some will not I'll ask around for you did you try and see if they would knock down to a seat belt ticket instead sometimes did you try negotiating it for something else to help you out

Apply at some of the megas and see what they say. Werner, Swift, CR England etc... Im not saying you should work for these companies but it will give you an idea if you are hireable.

It’s not going into court, you are going into his office anD asking for a favor. The ticket is a done deal,m. She doesn’t need a lawyer, lol. When I drove for the tribune they advised aspiring drivers to do that who were not repeat offenders.

She wants a job in an industry that’s very short handed. The very worst that will happen is they will tell her no.

My step daughter used to steal my pain meds, she didn't care if I was in pain or not, she did this every month till I bought a gun safe. She then stole my wedding present from my wife, a Gibson Les Paul. I called the cops and they found the guitar in a pawn shop. She was arrested. She was mad at me but I told her A: you stole a lot of my stuff and I still let you live in my house B: call the court house and tell them to give you a public defender(better then nothing). She didn't and the judge threw the book at her.

Moral of the story, go see a attorney! Consultations are usually free. They pull more weight and can get more done.
