I verified even on new Maps... great catch

I did it in car mode to take any truck settings/restrictions.

Unit had corrupt files that happened during a GPS Repair over spotty Wi-Fi... Reinstalled files and works fine now.

    Thanks,
    Mark

6800 Polar Way, Richland,Washington I cannot find under local search, guided search at all. I can find city center and if you put in just Richland Washington, it would route you to the center of the city.

46.334525, -119.308301 is the Long/Lat of the guard gate going in.. when I put the Lat/Long in it actually is in the map database as 2848 Kingsgate Way, Richland, WA.

ETA has nothing to do with the posted speed or what is showing on the GPS.. ETA is calculated with Distance from one Lat/Long position to another Lat/Long position in "x" time over "x" distance taking into total distance for route...

How does GPS tracking report on speeding? - Telogis Blog

Map databases do not have all truck speeds in the database. If a state does not report them or if the map database does not have it listed, then it will not show in Orange. You can change in your settings to display only Truck Speeds, but default is show car speed if no truck speed is in the map database.

The rest I will look at later.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I am sending you a conversation... I need a file from you.

    Thanks,

And also so you're saying that the ETA that the Rand McNally generates has absolutely nothing to do with the speed limits that are in its databases? That it's just picking an arbitrary average speed we should be moving? Based on my calculations I'm showing ETA okay is about 63 ETA increase some is about 61 ETA increase more is about 56. That seem correct? And that's just Highway does it do any kind of modifier when you drop down to surface streets?

Sorry if I'm being kind of buggy on this I'm just coming back to the Rand after being Elsewhere for a while and trying to relearn where I needed to put my ETA settings to be more accurate. Especially with California.

Rand does not just "Generate" the ETA as you are thinking.. GPS units and all work this way - they take the distance between point A and point B given by a Lat/Long at Point A and the Lat/Long at Point B and determine upon your velocity the speed you are going. This now known it figures out the distance you need to go and then takes your velocity and determines based upon your velocity it will take you x hours/x minutes to go that distance.

Slow down and your velocity slows down based upon the distance from Point A and Point B based upon the movement from Point A Lat/Long and Point B Lat/Long... speed up and the same happens... does not matter what type of road or direction you are going...

    In a nutshell. Lat/Long of Point A is = A, Lat/Long of Point B is = B, Velocity = V, Distance = D

    B minus A = V
    D divided by V = ETA

It is more to this of course, but this is a simple breakdown. If I walk one mile per hour, then in one hour I would have walked 60 miles. Now add the Velocity and depending if you walk faster, you gain more miles..

Your calculations are close to what I estimate the ETA different settings to be based upon a 65 mph speed

Now the only thing that would be different is how another manufacture determines the ETA settings to be in their algorithm.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Well Heh... City Grid is normally used for place of businesses that are for things like shopping, food, etc. It is not normally used for finding businesses that do shipping and receiving...

Doing a search did not yield results, but looking under Storage shows them. Now if you look to the left on the middle picture you would see the flag is in the middle of the city.

Google Street view from 2012 does not show the Polar Way street. So Maps are need to be updated in this area along with current names.

For right now, use the Lat/Long I gave you.

    Thanks,
    Mark
