One question is whether you took your CDL test in an auto. If so you would then be restricted to only drive automatic transmissions unless you retook the test with a manual.
I would never want to start with a company that only has autos anyway. There are a LOT more manual trucks on the road and most companies that are REALLY worth driving for when you want to step up to the next level of your career only have manual transmissions.
It would really suck to get a great job offer in a year or two, then blow the drive test in their orientation because you either have never driven a manual or the last time was when you got your CDL at school. This would limit your confidence when applying for jobs.
Far far better to get experience on 9's, 10's, and 13's at the very least. Make yourself more valuable for that shot at a dream job.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -

If PTL is the only company that will hire you, just go with it.
Don't lease a truck under any circumstances though or you'll qualify for food stamps.
Tell us about the speeding tickets; may not be as bad as you think unless their really excessive.
How old are the tickets?
