What does the interview and hiring process typically look like for company drivers? I know companies like to send recruiters to CDL schools. What would the interview and hiring process look like for a new CDL grad?

Get in that truck, let's go we are driving.

If you aint hear any more problems from the right seat during your road test, you are pretty much going to be hired. Silence is golden. Verbal and physical abuse if not.

Then you get to meet dispatcher after the obligatory pee test at hilda's office is completed. Dispatcher will growl at you. If he is in a good mood you two have lunch together. It's to evaluate you as predator or prey.

The good old days of being hired in 30 minutes are long gone.

    Today? ugh.

By the time I finished signing forms with McKesson and the contractor fleet tied to it it was almost a inch thick folder. I have never seen so many DOJ forms as I did that day. Homeland security was not in existance yet at that time either.

    I should explain.

Dispatchers do not suffer fools. Nor they suffer lazies who are late. Or whiny needies hiding under their skirts because of a little snow outside. Follow me?

    austinmike and TravR1 Thank this.

So as long as I'm not a complete idiot, shows up on time, pass the piss test, has a CDL, I'm pretty much good to go?

    Ryan423 and x1Heavy Thank this.

You talking otr or local? Otr is phone interview. They go over application. Ask for clarification on some things and invite you to orientation.

Local is a lot like this:

With Ozark it was a very tough interview process. I filled out the online application and waited 3 days. I got a call from the recruiter asking me when she could get me a bus ticket to the terminal to start orientation.

It was a truly brutal process.

I am sorry to hear about that. I’m here if you ever want to talk about it.
