Local is generally in the area you live, at least my route is. So I started with a basic working knowledge of the local roads. As far as learning the route it was just a matter of learning the specifics of the route. Chances are I'm not going to get completely lost. My milk hauling route is literally in my own community.

We do good in mn running local too. I’d say 21+ isn’t uncommon and 24 isnt hard to find with a little experience.

Just out of curiosity I went trudging through the Craigslist ads for South Florida, there were a few Class A jobs with $16 per hour as starting pay. These weren't just fly by night gigs either. One of them was for McLane so you know you would also be breaking your back for that $16.

I’d just get into another line of work down there if that’s the pay.

That's why I'm happy with OTR. $16 just isn't worth it and that's before you factor in the expense of a car for commuting. I haven't owned a car in 2 years so all that car note, insurance and gas money stays in my pocket.

I can’t blame you. My cousin just left jax for Texas because the jobs don’t pay in Florida. Her and her boyfriend are now doing really well.

Yepp, Joplin is correct. I’m from Indiana originally so I’m fairly familiar with the region. Not looking forward to the cold.

I saw an ad for McLane in Sunrise, FL that said average annual pay of 65 to 75k.
