Well duh! Its not the drivers company! If it was yours would you operate in the red just cuz your employees wanted more? ;)

It should be beneficial to the drivers that work, so the slackers can starve themselves out like they deserve to.

I recently had a load that was 18hrs delayed at pickup (paperwork wasn't ready) and 4 hrs delayed at delivery ( those kids at Amazon goofing off). I got a whopping $150 layover pay.

Why stay and give away my time for free?, because the pay, when I'm actually driving, is still pretty good and I am not confident that other OTR gigs would net me any more income.

I'm not a driver yet, still looking into it all. One question is, how are the dispatchers paid? I've worked as a commissioned light/medium duty truck tech for over 30 years so I understand this aspect. If they are paid hourly then why should they even give a crap. I think they should be commissioned as well. The slackers would be gone in a heartbeat. I was a stealership tech and the dispatchers would all play favoritism to their friends or find a way to manipulate the system. I worked with this one guy that would give the dispatch a $100 a week to keep him fed with easy high paying jobs. I actually caught on film and took it to the parts and service director, nothing happened! Dispatchers were paid hourly.

You obviously haven't bought milk in while. Wal-Mart brand Great Value Milk is $3.35 a gallon.
