I really don't think backing into a curb would bend it that much. In nearly 7 years out here I have never seen it like that.

Maybe you are right in your assessment. But I can't see how there would be such a degree of bend just by pulling a mud flap away. And it was straight down, not even bent backwards or forwards a little.

And it had to have happened before the driver dropped the trailer. There is nothing to back into there where you drop the empty trailers. There is no curb.
You must have been there, more than once.

 

Doesn't have to be a driver. Could have been a yarddog I picked up a loaded trailer at a customers and they had torn both mudflaps off when they backed the trailer over one of those cement parking blocks. Ask a yards who parks the loaded trailers. He said they did. So j pointed the problem to him and ask if be can ask their yarddogs not to back so far in. I ended up putting both mudflaps on while sitting in the snow. Brrrr.

 

That could be, and maybe I've been blaming the wrong person.

But it turned out well enough since I was able to get my speed increased.
I was really surprised at how quickly that shop got things done for me, even when they were busy.

 

I've been sitting here in Neenah, WI since yesterday with no pplan. Well, almost, because one just came in.

I got here Friday afternoon, with a home time request for Monday in MN.
And I didn't want to get there too early or too late, since my combined Thanksgiving/Christmas big turkey dinner is planned for Wednesday. And that is the only day that everyone can make it.

So I sat today with a day off, and not stressing at all.
I knew I have enough miles this week to cover things with the trip home, so I wasn't going to start making a stink about a load until Sunday morning.

Then I get this pplan for an Amazon load.
It gets me to within 20 miles of home, and it is a drop so I can go straight home from there late Sunday night.
Maybe the planner was thinking the same thing; to let me wait to get a load home rather than plan me further out and possibly make it impossible to get there on time.

The planners comment was that this was a short load, but it would get me closer to MN - but no mention or message of it being my home time load.
So I messaged back that I would be considering this my home time load since I was so close to home.
She asked what my PTA should be. I told her and she set it.
Then she sent another message ending in 'have a Merry Christmas'.

 

Mystic, I just realized the truck pulling out of the gate at Laredo yesterday afternoon as I pulled around from the trailer inspection that looked so familiar was you. Dang, I been hoping our paths would cross because I have been looking forward to talking with you and I would prefer in person. I imagine you're heading home for the holidays.

Oh poop ... I was heading over to the TA and dropped this morning. Then went back to the terminal after ... on my way to Atlanta now ... then I'll bingo home for the holidays.

 

Where else............ Las Vegas.

Got a new racebike last month, and my first ticket of course was............ In California for being in the wrong lane after getting screwed with by a moron who couldn't maintain his speed..... I thought for sure the new ZX10R would pop the cherry but no it was the Freightliner. I'm fighting it.


Anyway, I've bent the bracket just like that on an old central trailer. Had to back it on to some wood to get it at dock height, wasn't thinking about the flaps, one got pinched and the mudflap didn't even tear cause I hit the dock with it trapped.

Hope you guys are doing well over the holidays. I'll try to peek in more. It's alot easier to get on here when I'm impatiently yelling in progressive volume for a student to wake up. Now that I'm essentially punching the clock all my free time is nearly planned for me.

 

I got a load that was more empty miles than loaded, picking up near St. Louis and delivering just south of Kansas City at Church and Dwight.
Then picking up there headed to Indianola, MS to the Dollar General.

When I got to the shipper yesterday they were closed for the weekend. After speaking with CSR the load was voided, and I was told to wait for another load.

When I got up this morning there was still no pplan, so I called to see if I was still committed to that next pplan. I was.
I asked to be dispatched and it was done.
So I ended up running nearly 550 miles empty, and it will be 515 miles loaded.

Not really crazy about a Dollar General live unload at 1800 tomorrow as the parking options are very limited. I may end up having to spend the night in a corner of Dollar General, unless there is room in the Walmart parking lot.


And I found a good deal on a nice laptop at Costco a few days ago.
My last day of home time and I get my vacation pay, with a desire for a new computer.
Nothing I wanted at Best Buy, but when I went in to Costco they had a sweet deal on an Asus ROG for $999.
17" monitor, i7 7700HQ processor, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD (M.2 NVME) , 1TB hard drive, Nvidia GTX 1050Ti - and it even has a DVD drive, which is getting very hard to find these days.
I could not wait to unload all that money.
