There is a laundry list of reasons why such as driving for 3 weeks or more team driving making 3 something to MAYBE 5 something, making you come home the night of requested day off, making plenty of empty promises, setting you with another rookie driver and not doing anything about his recklessness while on the truck claiming its just "growing pains" ,and recently deducting the last check to escrow due to leaving before a year.
I have read another thread on here similar to what happened and DOL is planned to be contacted tomorrow.
I am so upset. They have screwed my family out of too much time and money and I want everyone to be ware of this company!

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.

What is this growing pains? If someone cannot run a semi properly and safely without requiring pain care, kick him off at a hospital.

PAM does not have a good place in my own thinking after I witnessed another newbie come into my gas station and tear out two trees, 40 feet of curbing and dig up additional landscaping with his trailer using a car entrance ramp.

I made sure that particular driver got bit but good. He left crying. Semi and all... It's a shame but it had to be done.

I started with PAM, they did a great job training me, I stayed and fulfilled my end of the contract and moved on.

I got my CDL with them, too...and stuck around for 2 years on a dedicated lane. 5 stops in Detroit, 2 stops in Dallas...home 4 nights per week, never gone more than 1 night. Only "team" I've ever been a part of was the 3 weeks I was with a trainer. After that, I've been on my own, because I have no desire to sleep in a moving truck or to place my life in a stranger's hands.

Like anything else in life, it is what you make it. If you don't want to team, don't team. If you need to be home, go home. I've quit jobs and had Enterprise pick me up at the terminal because they didn't want to get me home on time. If you act like a chump, though, allowing dispatch to walk all over you whenever they want, they'll do it all of the time.

I too started with PAM. Stayed a little too long but got my start.
To the OP's comments though I agree with most of what was said. Fortunately I was there before they started forcing new drivers to team together. Personally I think that's a garbage policy. I learned a lot having to figure things out for myself driving solo as a newbie. My experience was that you are correct they could care less about your home time. I was even told once that home time is a request, and they decide when you go home. All in all I think it's a crap company. Also my experience was they will lie on your DAC but will back down when challenged.

Leased onto them briefly for a dedicated auto parts route by the second week they screwed me out of my hometime and we parted ways . Talked to a couple rookies there and they were talked into ridiculous training contract.
