Alright where to begin. I've been driving locally here in North East, Ohio for almost 3 years now.

As far as local places go @Longarm is right Talon Logistics which is Giant Eagles premium fleet is all of the union red tape with none of the pay or benefits I wouldn't waste any time there.

    You do have choices though.
Sysco is hiring now Sysco you get all of the corporate and union red tape you get it from both ends hurray, but you do get the pay. Now they will hire new guys they sure do, but there rules are very strict and they run a hire to fire system down there at Sysco on Grayton Road they do indeed hire to fire. Sysco Cleveland is one of if not the worst Sysco Operating Company in all of the United States to work for it's certainly top 10 because Sysco is very difficult company to work for.

Now I would think you would be better off at Superior Beverage Group or House of LaRose while neither company is a bargain and both have there pitt falls they don't have the same BS Sysco has. However I wouldn't stay at either place forever.

US Foods in Twinsberg, Ohio would probably be worth a better shot they have a high over turn however I haven't heard anything awful about them.

You could try Jim's Leasing Service or Top Dawg in Brooklyn Heights.

Also On Time Delivery in Middleburg Heights those are all local cartage companies that do truck load and delivery work across the city.

Coca Cola Cleveland on Myles road will take you, but Coke has high standards for performance so keep that in mind.

It used to not be to hard to get a truck load job at Superior Beverage and do more trucking and less delivery, but some of that may have changed because that company kind of cleaned up there act a little bit and they aren't hemorrhaging employees like they used to. That place was a revolving door, but they made some changes and fired some people in management and now people are starting to stick around a bit.

I think were hiring at GFS we've been growing in this area and part of the growth has caused them to have to add trucks and trailers, you could apply to us GFS does hire new people.

Who else you could check the LTL companies, but I don't think any of them around here have to resort to hiring new people.

Estes in N. Ridgeville usually has the hiring sign up, but usually LTL companies can get experienced applicants so with them it's kind of hard.

JB Hunt does have local stuff because of the Intermodal Yard in Maple Heights, but JB Hunt also is a company that has cleaned up there act and there reputation isn't as bad as it used to be actually there actually way better then they used to be now people don't mind working there, so there overturn is way down.

You could try like Falcon from Youngstown. Falcon isn't what they used to be, they used to be huge up here, but I think the company has gone down the toilet some and has been bought out and filed for bankruptcy so on and so fourth.

Translogic from Austintown, Ohio they haul mail you could give them a shot they have a few trucks parked up here to do loads for the post office, they kind of blow, but I don't know if you want just truck load work or more delivery pedal work.

    Cleveland_Greg and Longarm Thank this.

Thank you so much! This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I feel a bit of relief now knowing that I will have some options out there.

USF Holland will hire you, they need help you would be in the Teamsters Union and everything. Just be ready to drive junk tractors and pull junk trailers. Last I heard they had more freight then they know what to do with. There terminal over on Memphis Ave has the now hiring banner up. You could make good dough there, but be ready to drive a Sterling tractor with 4 million miles on it that's held together by bubble gum and paper clips.

Um, FAB Express runs local loads out of the International Paper Plant in Streetsboro, Ohio I don't know if they will hire a new person, but they are the dedicated fleet for that plant hauling roll stock board you may want to look into them.

Also Black Hawk Transport of Belliot, Wisconsin runs the dedicated fleet out of Georgia Pacific's Plant in Mogodor, Ohio.
