have a 12.7 Detroit in a 1999 fld. Seen today have a crack in exhaust manifold. Seems to be a problem from internet search. Anyone know the best aftermarket? Been looking at Pittsburg power for $1400

Yes. Pitts power sell full tilt / bully dog.

I have them on both my cat and Detroit. No problems. Don't buy a stock manifold. Use all new hardware and gaskets and you shouldn't have to look at it again for long time.

    Ruthless Thanks this.

19 year old fld?huhuhuhuhu.14,000 lbs.at 100.00 or so per ton would give you about 700.00 towards a down payment on a later model.if you find a good scrapyard. Once one has more miles than the space shuttle its time to update. Or keep throwing 1,400.00 parts at it.

Well in the 13 months I’ve had it I’ve put air compressor and now the $1400 manifold. So guess I’ve paid way more in parts in 13 months than I would that late model payment and those nice after treatment repairs.

The new fancy shiny trucks are garbage the minute they leave the production line. If you had an ounce of brains and any balls. You'd drive an older truck and see there is not much difference other than the bloated price of new trash. Yup I said it. That's my thoughts if you don't like them, oh well.

Drain your tanks religiously And keep an air dryer filter in the garage at home. Detroit compressors puke a lot of oil into the air system. Ours not a problem add long add you drain your tanks regularly and are prepared to change the dryer filter once it becomes oil saturated.

Will do. So far has been a good truck. Has 740k on the clock and runs great.
