Weekly net varies for every person. My average weekly net is only $600-$700 but my gross is about $1300-$1400. Gross is the only figure that matters everybody has a different tax and benefits situation

He could pay child support, maybe his company’s insurance isn’t cheap maybe he puts most his money away in a 401k... could be anything.

Interesting, most otr guys would kill for a soft cushy local gig doing drop and hook for 500 miles a day.

I’m the opposite. I can’t imagine working 70 hours a week day in and day out and living in a truck. I’ll gladly sit in traffic 45 minutes for my 4 mile commute to work.

I’ll only work 50 hours a week tops. Preferably 45 most weeks so I get a couple hours ot before the taxes are too high.

Still gonna gross 60k+ So I don’t see any reason to live in a truck for 80k if that...

Isn't it great that there's such diversity in trucking jobs? Even OTR has different meaning to different people. My OTR is weekends home unless I don't feel like going home.

Yeah that’s why I like it, I used to haul dead animals 80 hours a week when I first started driving truck. Then realized I didn’t want to hate my life anymore so I met a nice guy who owns a fuel company with a couple trucks and never looked back. None of us want to work 70 hours a week so he doesn’t make us and will just hire another driver when we start working too much for our liking.

To each his own. I like running 700 mile days here and there and sleeping in my truck once a month, that’s fun since I don’t do it daily... my sleeper is just to look cool most the time. Lol
