I think lease operator can work but it's true more fail than not. I'm on my 3rd run at it and it remains to be seen how it works out this time. I think dart is an excellent choice for first time because they provide you with more support than other companies but they also do not pay as well. Check out some of the many threads on lease purchase and ask other drivers that are with the companies you are considering.

Paying for their truck
Fueling their truck
Licensing their truck
Paying the tax on their truck
Insuring their truck
Maintaining their truck
Servicing and repairing their truck
Don't believe me? Go to Dart, CRST, England, Schneider, Pam, or any other others lease their truck and then try to take it somewhere else before you have the title in hand. You will quickly discover that it is not your truck. You are not an O/O, you are the person paying for their truck and receiving none of the benefits.
I realize that many people on here are participating in this scam and believe that it is good. Many of us have even successfully completed these programs. This is not a gateway to becoming an O/O.
But hey, do what you want.April LeDoux and misterG Thank this. -
It's up to the driver to do his/her due diligence on companies that do l/ps. Yeah, many will put you at a disadvantage. But there are still some companies that want you to succeed. Still, it is up to the driver to mind his Ps and Qs. Success or failure rides on managing that large check, and not letting it go to the cable bill, new car payment, and vacation fund. In this business bling means failure; and I don't care how many Andrew Jackson's you chase.UturnGirl Thanks this. -

I read about too many drivers who would rather walk away from a situation that would be easily proven in court. Having a few thousand in an emergency fund would get a decent lawyer to win a claim like obvious breach of contract. Vultures count on the drivers walking away, not dragging them to court.
