It could be true 70k is about 1400 a week gross. Net would be able 1,000 or so take home I've seen videos of guys making that. Plus it's not just cpm other things increase pay like fuel bonuses, safety bonuses, extra stops, NY City etc etc. Plus swift has the freight obviously so miles should be there consistently.
I'm not a Swift fan but I believe it's doable.
Is it possible to make close to 70k gross in 1st yr solo with swift?

Swift does have a lease side of the business and it can be done, but then you have expenses that will take a huge cut/.

$70,000/$.38CPM(average) = 184,210 miles a year
184,210miles/52weeks = 3,543 miles a week average!
3,543miles/70hours = 50mph average.
See how cleanly that worked out. That is the mathematical convolutions that get you to the theoretical maximums these recruiters lie about.
The truth is Swift drivers average around 1700-2200miles a week. Although a few get much less, no one driver gets much more than that consistently. To say different only means you don't understand the system in the least. Those distractors most likely fell for the same 'recruiter/dispatcher' BS that started this post.
That said, I am sure some Swift/mega-fleet apologists will chime in to disagree.Joetro, Indignant trucker, diesel drinker and 4 others Thank this. -

That is the problem with forums sometimes, you got a hundreds of people that don't know, yet still have an opinion.
Then you got people that never thought about it.
Still other people heard something from their recruiter, dispatcher, planner, brother, third cousin or monkeys uncle.....
Yet other people are even insulted with the notion that they were not the worker that the job promised.
And through all of the BS, the truth never comes out, or is ignored. The new driver takes the biggest BS to heart and signs up to work with one of these mega's, like Swift.
No, the truth is you and other's don't take into account how a trucking company, like Swift, works. And the distractors from the truth suffer 10 degrees of butthurt when their supertrucker status is challenged.Last edited: Dec 20, 2017

Even if you could do drop and hooks for everything and zero time waiting for customers or for anything .... at 3500 miles a week you are going to run yourself into the ground before you get anywhere near 52 let alone 50 weeks of it done.
The accessories pay is small potatos.
Maybe I'm just getting old.
Edit to add
I'm sure swift has a few that do exactly this. Now they can say look at this guy he made this much! Same as owner operators. They will have 1 hot shot and then advertise how much he makes. It is not anywhere near an average expectation. -
Remember, a short time ago, you made a post about how frustrated you were and you was having thoughts about quitting? And that was just in the school. Things get more difficult.
So a rookie has to ride with a trainer, and get his hand held, and micromanaged, and set his truck up, and learn the system, and the freight, and get to know some office peeps other than his DM. THEN he can kind stack the deck in his favor. The problem is, if you’re turning and burning, and running the miles, as many miles as you legally can, suddenly Safety becomes concerned. Most of these companies will have some sort of safety policy that you the driver won’t know about, but they will have a limit...somewhere around 13000 miles in a 30 day period cap. And the DM and the planners will have to start dragging their feet. And loads will suddenly “cancel.” And the only thing they will tell you is, “Stand by, driver.” And you’re trying to figure out wtf as everyone around you is still moving.diesel drinker and Toomanybikes Thank this.
