Crashfest on Alberta Highway 43 near the Iosegun River today. Facebook video of vehicles (including a crude oil tanker) speeding into stopped traffic:

Here is a 2013 dashcam video of a Highway 43 truck crash on the south side of the Iosegun River:

Highway 43 is the highway that connects the Yellowhead Highway near Edmonton to the Alaska Highway. Highway 43 is known for speeding trucks that crash a lot.

Another example of how this use to be avoided when every trucker had a CB radio. Now they are all literally flying blind.

Well they are certainly flying, as usual on Highway 43.

Most of the trucks on Highway 43 have VHF radios.

I imagine that kind of Winter is normal in Canada.I would have shut down till roads are clean and more visibility.

    Whee...

Now I remember what I don't miss. It's often a cluster-... heading north down the hill.

I’m on linehaul and we run in that crap weekly. We never shut down unless highway is closed which has happened twice in my 22 years on my run. Not unusual to run in heavy snow every night for weeks in a snow belt. I can usually go around road closures via secondary highways. The beer must get through!

I figured it wasn't unusual for Canada.
