Any out there? What about bus drivers? Train drivers? Drop and hook bumping docks all day? I have food service experience (U.S Foods, Sysco, etc) and I can tell you that I will never go back to it. Are there any low stress jobs out there? Thanks in advance.

My son works for US Foods. He loves it. No stress. He gets done when he gets done.

I thought concrete was strefful. I was a teamster too. Hit anything on site, sprinkler, blade of grass, write up.
But to me the even more stressful part is the concrete. I was good at it, so I went to a lot of the government projects. But they test the load, sometimes twice, when you get there, and if you're off it gets rejected. That's some streff.
I've noticed OTR, local, driving a cab, when you get tired, everything becomes strefful.blairandgretchen, Farmerbob1, TripleSix and 2 others Thank this. -
I know I'd never want to do food service. Dealing with snowed in parking lots, that are tight enough without any cars in them. Fingerprinting all that crap in the heat and cold? Hell no. Not crazy about the hours, either. Not enough money to have gotten me interested in that, even when I was much younger.
Hauling aggregate nights to fill concrete batch plants was pretty easy. -

What stress do new drivers have today? Get in and face two or three GPS units, push the D button to go. Pre-trip inspections are optional. Drive with regard only for yourself, stare straight ahead with a death grip on the wheel talking on your Bluetooth. Looking in your mirrors is optional.
Get to a truck stop and pull into a space because you can’t back to save your life, get to a receiver and dump trash out since that dumpster is almost 50 feet away. Park on the fuel island without consideration for anyone else in the world. Then, at the end of the day, watch tv or play video games. The only stress would be trying to pass a DOT physical when they gain 50 lbs from being lazy. Rant over. -
Well I love what I do so it's not stressful to me, I'm home everyday since that's what I want after being OTR for years. I am an O/O I pull a 40 ft. frameless dump trailer run between 450 and 600 miles a day no sweat. There is nothing about trucking that is stress free, but you can either let it control you or you can control it which is what I do. I pick the hours I work I prefer nights less traffic just more peaceful, easier to get around major cities. Good luck.
Farmer54, Dave_in_AZ and bentstrider83 Thank this.
