CFI is proud to support female truck drivers.
One of our very own female drivers, Stephanie Klang, was named as an ATA’s America’s Road Team Captain. Stephanie surpassed an incredible milestone of driving over three million safe miles!
    Company-paid Tuition
With a 12-month commitment to drive for CFI, qualified students can now receive fully paid tuition to attend driving school in Missouri. We’ll even cover your lodging and meals for the duration of the four-week course.
A qualified candidate will possess the following**:

    • 21 years of age or older
    • Have the right to work and live in the United States
    • Be willing to travel throughout all 48 contiguous states and Canada for two to three weeks at a time

    Hateful and DoubleO7 Thank this.

Sorry, but as a company driver I don't have any help to offer on that. I wi) say that after 32 years on the road, you have to have tons of common sense and planning skills that will help you in adapting to the mandate.

    A few more things:
Look up Trucker Desiree on YouTube. Watch her videos, especially the older ones.

If you go with a company that will train you in exchange to a contract for a length of employment, read it thoroughly. Do not go with them if there is a non compete clause if you do not complete the specified length of time. If you do not complete the specified length of time, how much are you required to pay? Is it a lump sum, or monthly payment? How much are the payments and how many months?

The last number I heard was that over 90% of new drivers are not in the industry after 1 year. The odds are not with you. You will have to have a strong will to succeed.

This might be a good option for her.

That's what I was thinking. Also, less chance of dealing with grocery warehouses often. The company has a pretty good reputation with the drivers also.

    DoubleO7 Thanks this.

You know how I feel about West Side Transport, but if she can't swing paying tuition, it does look like a decent possibility for her. The pay commitment removes most of the stress for me at West Side. That being said, not every company works for every driver.

You are most welcome, and please watch those videos. They will help keep you from being blindsided as a new driver.
