It's not a matter of adapting for me.
I was 21 when received CDL and have had to adapt to alot. Some very good things, some not.
It's a matter having to do it under Gov. Coercion/Duress.

I am leaning towards the Garmin.

What the heck is that for advertising. They could have at least used a pic off of stacks and cracks.com plenty of pretty ladys and trucks.

The 90% turn-over rate has been as long as I have been truckin, multiple reasons why.

Toomanybikes, Hateful and DoubleO7 Thank this.

I see alot of this 90% turnover everywhere here. Everybody's fighting. They're not working. Don't have the slightest idea what the definition of a company is.
I had a supervisor run around yelling: They're dropping like flies! They're dropping like flies!
I worked for 7 years at a company that many turned their noses up at. The owner was a good, honest, tough, but fair man. I stayed there for that reason.
I am avoiding all the shippers and receiver problems with the job I chose. Hoping it works out. I know everybody has problems. Everybody. I'm just hoping my problems are dealable.

    Hateful and DoubleO7 Thank this.

Dry van is good too because after they eat they need to wipe their butts. And people always have to poop. Lol

I thought about refer myself but with all the sitting for live load and unload, trailer washouts and another piece of equipment the refer to worry about for a penny or two more a mile is not worth it for me. You make about an extra $50 for refer.

It's good if your company pays nice detention or layover pay but the company I'm with only pays $5 per half hour they get 2 hours to load or unload after that you get paid $5 per half hour. So you can sit 2 1/2 hours and make a whopping $5. No thanks.

    Toomanybikes Thanks this.

Some of us like the older ones; like fine aged wine. You wouldn't know that by looking at my wife, but that just happened. Once they get over 35 or 40, they start looking real fine!

USA Truck has a terminal behind the Dayton Airport. They train new drivers. They can probably set you up with a gal trainer.

No ####? I live up in Jackson center about 10 miles north east of Sidney. If you're in piqua, Havre you checked with Clark state in Springfield? That's where my dad got his cdl, and they still have a program there

    Actually, just one reason why...
Pay rate is actually much worse than changing oil at a walmart auto center.
