Hello, I would want to know if I could bring my Great Dane dog with me when I am on the road? I know it’s up to the company that I am with but would he be too big for that small truck? How is it like having a dog on the truck with you

Why would you want a huge dog like that cooped up in such a little space?

I raise two Great Danes at different times in the truck. I was fun. One was at 180lbs. at 11 months the other was 140lbs. They did NOT sleep on the bed but they did make a good rug if I had to get up in the middle of the night. Make sure you have ramp for them to get in and out of the truck. The constant jumping in and out is really hard on their joints and picking them up after a certain size is impossible. Good luck and have fun. Ignore the naysayers

No, I think the FMCSA has a size limit on dogs. I know I read it somewhere or maybe a guy at the truckstop diner told me.

    No bigger than a Chihuahua.

It's not about Naysayers, what quality of life is it for a animal that size to be in a tiny truck?

Well it depends on how much you stop and get out just as it does with any animal. Danes are notorious couch potatoes. Mine were very happy and healthy in the truck. We were home every other week most of the time.

I would never put a large dog in truck simply as they will never get proper exercise. Walking a dog is not exercise. I have Ibizan hounds and no way would I cram them into a truck.
Great Danes have a short enough life expectancy at 7 years.
