I own a small company. We don't use DAC. If you came in and told me the story of you giving two weeks notice and then working an extra week, I would not have a problem hiring you.

You didn't abandon the load; it was a team operation and your team mate had plenty of time to get the load there on time.

I read this thread. Thought you all would like to read about a real abandonment.
This was when I was in CDL school. Teacher on the phone screaming: "That's it for her! Fire her! She's finished!.... I told you to call me before hiring any of these people!"
Teacher explained.... Girl was in the last class before us. Described her as 'High Maintenance". ... She had gone on her first run by herself. 13 deliveries in Wyoming. She did 12. Checked into a motel. Next morning, she checked into the Hospital with; dehydration. Called her mother to come get her. Left the truck in Wyo. with the 13th delivery on it.
Now that's abandonment!
EDIT: I realize. This is so bad. It's hard to believe. If you lived here. You would understand. People here are ...well..... Don't use the I word: Idiot.Last edited: Dec 27, 2017

My last job somehow always knew i had an interview lined up. And somehow never managed to bring me home when i needed to be home. When i finally DID get something lined up and had a plan to be home GAURANTEED. He tried to get me to deliver. Said it was urgent and they were waiting for me and desperately needed the load. I called them up. They knew nothing about an urgent load. Was in no hurry to receive what i had for them. WOULDN'T even be there by the time i got there as they go home early on fridays. And don't except loads without appointments anyways. To which the soonest was noon on monday.
BOSS FAILED. I would have gone all the way up there for nothing. 175 miles north of home. And he probably would have made me camp out for the weekend.
Got the interview moved from friday to sunday. Cleaned out truck at home after interview. Delivered load on monday. And back to yard to park the truck.
As for truck abandonment. Don't work for dac companies and it won't be an issue.Grubby Thanks this. -
