Swift it's not the big bad evil company that so many people make it out to be. Sure, because they are so large you're always going to get a few bad apples. But I was trained with a mentor who is driven for 17 years, I never felt rushed to learn or not do anything I wasn't ready for. I get consistent miles and respect for my driver manager. It's all the people that can't handle adversity as other people have said that come to these message boards and spew their hatred because they can't get their own act together.

Would you guys recommend Swift over Navajo Express? They run mostly reefer but there is a Swift driver who's been doing alright who said I could use his name on the app. Not sure what to do. Closest Swift terminal is Troutdale while Navajo is all the way in Denver, CO but they said they would fly me out there. Advice would be appreciated.

What's the difference in starting pay?jeff18, RedRover and Rocknroller4 Thank this. -
Navajo pay .43 cpm starting off (reefer, many live unloads tho)
Swift pay .34 cpm (dry van)Big Don Thanks this. -
My vote is Navajo and not having to live in a idling truck.jeff18 and Rocknroller4 Thank this. -
DoubleO7 Thanks this.

OTOH, doing a lot of loading and unloading will keep you in far better shape than just driving. You will usually have more waiting time, and dock time with reefer than with dry van. So check to see if you get detention pay. ALSO if you have to fingerprint the load, you should get paid for it. If not, you are working for free, which sucks. We do enough working for free anyway, without unloading and loading the trailers.Rocknroller4 and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
I just been shafted by them too. I went to take a 3 day permit course to get my permit well they gave me a drug test and I tested positive for marijuana. However I don’t have a cdl or even a permit and everything I read states I do not fall under any dot regulations because I never acquired a permit so called pre-employment drug test does not qualify as a dot pre-employment drug test. But swift is refusing to take it off the driver facts. I have filed a rebuttal. I am wondering is there anything else I could do to get this cleared off my driver facts or any other site they might have put it on
