Met a guy today at the Petro on 12 somewhere in Louisiana and he was just beside himself, almost to tears, about the new elogs. I felt sorry for him. Whatever company he gets his logs through puts him on duty when he starts the truck....and on and on. He was a nice guy too.....not ranting about how elogs are BS or anything, just that he couldn't understand how they worked.
Yeah, if they wanted to speed up the retirement of the 55+ guys, they sure found a way.
Dudes name was Helmut and he was from Germany. ....Looks like an old hippie. Pulling his own box truck with a trailer behind. If you see him, be sure to say, "hidey ho".
    Nice guy.....real sad

These old timers are gonna have real fun with elogs thrown at them. It's tough enough for them to figure out how to send a text message.

I had to bust my behind doing 2-3 loads a day just to average $2 a mile at Schneider before that eventually became impossible.
First full week dispatching my truck solo in the open market and averaged over $4 all miles on 3 loads for the week and that's with starting coming out of Florida.
Can't believe I thought I was doing great with those short loads in the past SMH, great for maybe being leased to a mega carrier but complete garbage when compared to the real world.
