if brokers have their way about it,the rates will not go up to truckers. They will keep it all themselves. There is allways some dumb jerk, eld or not,who will haul cheap freight. The inability to stick together will kill the truckers chance to make more money
Load truck ratio just broke all records, highest level ever recorded by DAT on elog mandate week!!!

I believe the "wait and see" will be the tell all.
The rates will surely increase.. but by how much?
Capacity will level off somewhat after the 1st of Jan, when seasonal vacays are over, and O/O's that were making a statement by parking their rigs for 2-3 weeks to let the dust settle and soul search.
Cheap freight does suck, and there will always be a sucker to pull it just to get out of somewhere.
This will help. The mandate is horrible. The HOS is the problem.. not the device. Blah blah blah.. we all already know this.
I can already tell you what the real problem is gonna be with the ELD in the long run.
PARKING.
When everybody is bedding down.. it's tough.
All of my little hidey holes are disappearing already. Steadily over the last 5 weeks. I don't park at big places. I go off the beaten path to the little McD's, small Mom n Pop, tiny C store with 5 spots.. etc.
It's getting tough.
Can't wait till the roads fill back up and everybody needs to work again.AlexD13 and Oldironfan Thank this. -
tql and other brokers posts 25 loads to different locations when they only have 1 load from one location....those stats are never right
Timin770, dirthaller, SuperDan Trucking and 1 other person Thank this. -
If parking is an issue than I guess hygiene will be next. One big domino effect. Oh wait I lived on eld for a while going OTR. I only fuel at certain chains so after I fuel there is no parking to get a nice hot shower. Or I could block the fuel island in the middle of the night. This was an issue for me on elogs.

There are some legitimate (done them before) straight and square loads posted for 4 dol per mile. But this could be the end of the year inventory reshuffling heat. At the end of January, we'll see if this continues. Even if it does, there will be more trucks entering and saturating the market. So I don't think, it will last for too long. Heck, even if I could get steady 2.5 dol a mile average on all miles, I'd start playing with the idea of adding trucks and I am not the one who likes to complicate things for himself.
Oldironfan and Lite bug Thank this. -
It's a tool to use, take it for what it's worth.Oldironfan Thanks this. -
The Chokers will always keep it cheap

Pretty sure all this is gonna do is show how inefficient the current HOS are.
