Lol! I’ve never encountered a time where they had overbooked; my spot has always been guaranteed and both truck stops always honored my booking... so, I can’t answer you on IF they overbook what would happen.........

I’m not so sure about that one.... I do the same route across the US... and haven’t noticed an increase from last year... West of the Mississippi I don’t have much problem getting a spot until I reach 40 miles east of Seattle.. ugh! Then, back towards the east I use paid parking when I get east of Carlisle, Pa.... and not much has changed for me.. but, it’s worth it in those areas for me to be assured I always have a place to park....

I am more concerned with running legal so I have to plan my trips according, even log the time of planning a trip as on duty not driving, That is all built into the rates I will pull for and is part of the business plan to run under. But with having appointments to be kept and having to put up with shippers and recievers that take to much time that all has to be planned for. Somedays a trip will go easy and not all the bs will be applied but all my plans go with worse case scenarios. The world is changing again and so do we, them days of running balls out are over, for me now it is plan, run and repeat.

You drivers are big boys and girls you don't need the government and all these trucker hater groups to tell you when you're tired.I suspect it'll get a lot worse in months to come.

Ugh.. nobody is telling me what to do... I manage my loads and time just fine... yes, some of these new rules and regs are crazy; but, until we drivers have more power to influence the outcome of some of these decisions( and I don’t see that happening) we either choose to deal with them and manage our career within them; or get the heck out of this industry.... I choose to work with them and be an advocate within my power of what I think might be better; instead of sitting back and complaining.....

What's wrong, didn't get the response you wanted in the trucker's rant section so you posted it here as well?

Some are not big boys and girls, some can not think themselves and need to be told what, how, when to do everything. We have to keep them safe because it is to much trouble for them to do that. Until some realize that they are in control of what they do we have to babysit them and play by them "safe" rules. I find it kind of sickening how pc this country is becoming.

Oh, and of course, if you are doing you job well, and you see that these new constraints are affecting your income; go talk to your company if you are a company driver; maybe you can negotiate a pay increase to offset some of this stuff: if you are an oo try to pass on some of this crap in the rates you are charging.... the time to do this is NOW! With the pressure on the industry with tightening movements being felt; we do have a bit of negotiating power now.... I just got a 5 cent raise per mile and an additional 3 cents for pulling a reefer.. that was huge!!!!! For little ole me....

Actually it starts with the top protesting elogs no common since laws ect.But since most agree with everything fmcsa and ata does it'll never happen. Most the drivers are company drivers and many new drivers. So if there's issues companies have they're the ones who need to start standing up for their drivers.
