This just came off my Facebook feed.....
“Found out today that the TA truck stop chain is NOT treating their fuel so far this year. 75% of my fleet was froze up with jelled fuel this morning.
That info came from the fuel desk at my local TA. Corporate won't ok them to put in the treatment when the fuel truck dumps it load.
It was -6 this morning at my place.
Negative 16 at another.
Negative 23
And negative 35
Thanks TA for screwing me over.”
I’d post the link but it’s got the guys name in it.......
I don’t trust any fuel stop.... period -

if im sleeping in the truck generally anything sub 0 i leave it running between battery consumption over night and the cold i don't trust 100% that it will start in the morning. i will shut it off and run the bunk heater between the time that i park for the night and go to bed but i will re-start the truck and go to bed. if im going home for a couple days i just try to run it down to about 1/4 tank of fuel and top off with #1 and shut it off. i can get power to the block heater and put cables on it if i need when starting it back up when i go home

when i can when parked home for a few days when its really cold out ill try to just park my truck inside the shop. im not going back out on the road till early Wednesday morning so iv had my truck inside threw all the -20 and colder we have had here for the last several days. unfortunately i cant get a truck and trailer inside my shop at the same time, ill be leaving out real early am weds and i wont want to be out hooking up hydraulic lines ect at that hour in the cold. so ill hook up my trailer tuesday evening and just nose it up to the shop and plug it in but the weather is supposed to be breaking a bit by then anyway.
