I just arrived in Springfield, MO. I figured I could start this thread as my sort of journal and for other newbies to read so they know what to expect when they arrive.
I just checked in to the Campus Inn Motel about an hour ago. It’s not a terrible place but not 5 star either. Better than what I expected anyways. I got lucky and my roommate left 15 minutes after I showed up because he was leaving to start training for his CDL exam. My impression with Prime has been great. Seems they are organized and everyone here has been very nice and helpful. I start orientation tomorrow at 7 am. Will update this thread tomorrow after class.

Congrats captjimmy. I think you made a good choice. I look forward to reading this journal.

I came extremely close to going with Prime. A very well thought out company. I've accepted another job. It's basically, a very good one with a pneumatic trailer. Also easy to work with me at home. Even though I'm 6 hours from the terminal. Going through the hiring process right now. All being done at home. Using local clinics.
I could easily be in Springfield or Salt Lake right now. Wish you the best. Keep us informed.

Alright guys, just completed first day of PSD with the exception of my sim lab at 8:30 tonight. It’s definitely a long first day and I’m not sure if it’s always like this or just because my class has a shorter week. Started class at 7:00 this morning. They basically went over rules and procedures and how program is structured. Just to clear up a topic I was reading a few days ago on here, Prime does not allow any drinking whatsoever while in PSD or on or off campus for that matter. ZERO TOLERANCE. At about 9:30 they released us to go take care of physical, file review, drug test and agility test. All of this, including class and simulators, is done right at Campus Inn. Very convenient. Another issue I can clear up is that if you have a BMI over 39, you will take sleep test. No neck measuring is done. After I completed all that, then it was CBT time. They have about 35 videos you have to watch and then take quizzes on. They range anywhere from 1 minute to 30 minutes and cover anything from sexual harassment to pretrip inspection to hazmat. Needless to say I’m only about halfway done. I’m still impressed with everyone here. Very nice staff and extremely helpful. They cram a lot down your throat all at once so be sure and ask questions. Out.

While all those things are nice to have wait until your out on the road and you need time off or have a break down and then see how you get treated hopefully you'll get the same professional courtesy.

Hopefully. I can’t speak for that yet but so far everyone has been great. Company seems to be on top of it.
