All the three European MX-13 engines are multi-torque engines. For some reason only two of the seven US versions are multi-torque engines.

    And what is disingenuous please?

Sorry , it’s kinda like telling half the truth to make your point ......

The Mx doesn’t have all that torque you bragged about unless it’s in the top 2 gears.....

To get a heavy load moving you need the lower gears.... :banghead::banghead::banghead:

To make it easier to compare I approximate torque and power curves of both in one graph. This way it is easier to compare, than just a few numbers.

Blue is Cummins, Red is DAF (in highest gears only, lower in other gears)

Blue beats red everywhere except below 1100 rpms......And that’s in the highest 2 gears....much lower in others........

Yes, I know. However, in lower gears the torque of the engine is multiplied by the gear ratio. In Europe these engines are combined with a 12 or a 16 speed ZF Traxon gearbox in direct drive or overdrive configurations, with a total ration of 16.7 or 17.9, meaning that the engine torque will be multiplied by those figures. In top gear, a truck will need most of its torque .

Please repost this drawing with the complete torque lines starting from 900 RPM, the lowest value Cummins supplies in their specs. And keep in mind that this is the most powerful of all five Cummins engines, the other four are not on the graph. So a 15 litre 605HP engine against a 530HP 13 litre engine.

No it doesn't. It looks like you're driving an old worn out truck with a smoky engine.
