Lone mountain SCAM

I asked because that's what I was told in April of this year..After making down payment I went out to test drive the truck after which there was a. break issue ABS light came on and tractor pulled to right when breaking.The guy who went out with me on test drive told me "we only fix it If its a DOT ISSUE" at that time I walked away from the deal. Was told later that I should have called the sales person in Iowa and he would have gotten those issues resolved.

 

Go to Truckpaper, spec a truck with at least 475 HP, 13 or 18 speeds a 70 inch bunk and 75 to 90k miles per model year. You will usually find good o/o trucks at small Family owned OEM dealerships around the country, that were sold by them. This is a good starting point.

I think if you look for a used truck that has an APU, your going to be a leg up. Or one that has an opti idle system, something that limits the wtf idling.

I always recommend to people when they start asking to look at Penske's web site, because they are maintenance FREAKS, and keep all records, and you can view them. You can see trends of what may break, what's definitely going to break, what might be a 'lemon' truck where everything breaks.
Not saying buy there, it's a good source as well, but you can research thousands of maintenance report, and form an informed opinion ( Wow WTF is that ), and look too see specific things when you do go to buy.

I still think if you don't beat the truck, you don't over idle the truck, the truck won't beat you.
Just a theory.

All that being said, if I could get my cousin to team, we'd be sporting one of LM's new 900's.

 

I'm in a truck leased from Penske, and I wouldn't call them "maintenance freaks". You need 4 drive tires on the same axle? We'll replace one this time, then another one a month from now, then the last 2 6 months from now. And they may be recaps, virgin, or maybe a new recap, and a used tire next to each other.

 

Dude they keep the best records out of anyone in this game.

 

That may be, they might have the best record keeping out there. But if they're not changing the parts, then there ain't much in them there records.........

I have a feeling that those who are singing the praises of Lone Mountain have never leased a truck from them.
