No matter where you get your truck, there's some luck involved, even a brand new one.

Frankly...the owner has come on here before and even offered in writing here to someone who had issues with a truck that he would refund all his money for the truck and bring it back...i would say anyone who offers that in writing is more of a decent business person than a sham

Lone Mountain sells used fleet trucks. Trucks that go 50,000 miles between oil changes and are loaded with soot. I would expect nothing but headaches from any of their trucks.

New Volvo for $169,500 with interest over 5 years is not a bad deal.
As opposed to the megas that charge $50,000 a year, plus.10 cpm, I’d take lone mountain every day

    Jarhed1964, Lepton1 and drvrtech77 Thank this.

I would not go as far to say that Lone Mountain is a scam, but you better #### sure know what you are getting into with a fleet maintained emissions truck. I would say that is the issue with Lone Mountain and complaints, an ignorant customer base.

I bought a privately owned emissions truck, all the service records included, and it was a total nightmare for the first year and a half until I fixed the EPA issue. Fixed that problem, only to discover the EPA mandate was masking an even bigger issue, a bad head. I then wound up performing an in frame from the heat damage caused by the faulty emissions, which is common in these motors. Now, nearly four years later, the truck is starting to turn a profit. The only reason I keep it, is that it is paid for, and only a few more small items to replace. She is essentially a new emission free truck.

Like I stated above, you better know what you are getting into with these motors. If I had it all to do over again, I would have went with a pre EGR motor, the Series 60 or N-14 and would have never looked back. Yes, I too was once an ignorant customer. I learnt my lesson the hard way, don't be a fool like I was, educate yourselves before purchasing one of these motors, they can and will bankrupt you. ;-)
