as east european i think i have word or two to say.

it says he gets 477€ salary and 45€ per day for expenses so in total 1827€.
they do not say how long does he spend home after 4 months, lets guess it is one month with 477€, so in average during 5 months he gets 1557€.... we will all agree this is not enough to live decent in west europe which video shows itself

but this 1557€ which is a lot comparing to average romanian salary of 400-450€, so if he save little bit by cooking in cab bringing plenty of food from east europe to danemark, and every saved euro will mean huge in romania for his family where he sends his money.

average salary here is 809€, in my company 1758€....
truck driver usually get pay against law by percentage of income to company or by km.
they are employed on average salary but get their actual money on next two ways:

    low limit of salary are:

    1. 0.135€ per km (0.264$ per mille), average driver can make 12000km(7440milles) per month so this is 1620€ -1977$

2.mostly 13% of income to company, lets say average driver makes 12000km, and company drives 85% loaded distance this is 10200km that are payed. company drives for minimum of 1.2€/km so this makes again 1590€

this is based on lowest salary this means you are at home twice per week, however if they are driving to west europe nobody will drive under 2000€. you also need to spend about 250-300€ of food and cigarets , if you want to save maybe 200€. so with this your familly can live good here

my friend pays 70€ per day on road nationally+ minimum wage....so driver can earn easy 2x more than regular people, and even 2.5 as in case of my friend being home almost every night.

in west europe drivers are payed just little bit more than national average so who will be that stupid to work like 12 hours per day of salary that people get for 8hours doing easier job somewhere in factory, without risk of robbery, police, accidents killing somebody on road, risking family relationship, unhealthy life.....

if you pay driver on official law you have to pay 70€ for most of west european countries, some are 80€ you are well over 2000€ and our companies dont find any reason to sent trucks to steal jobs of western companies, we are too expensive.
my other friend tried to sent drivers to drive for some spedition 1€/km by 14000km per month, and his drivers were staying on road for 12days. he did not find it economically, he now operate to italy for about 1.65€/km.

anyway this can seems to be little comparing to USA norm.
i have no idea how truck drivers can earn there but i have some family there and my parents just returned from there and they are telling their impression.....from that and my own impression of USA i think we live better.

sister of my father and son get there in 1971, her husband in 1968, his eldest brother in 1961.
they were doing jobs that nobody else wanted to do and saving every dollar.
however since he was working on construction, he used to buy bad houses repair them and sell so he earn lot of money. currently he own 12 houses which he rents. his home is value 2.5-3 million dollar. he own house in california on florida, some land and apartment in columbus ohio, house and big forest in vt.
they have 2 sons, older one is engineer in military airplane factory, pretty big guy i think he have some 150 workers under him.
younger one is engineer too but work in financial company that give big loans to industry, he own some share so he have to work more and they are secured he will not move into other company.
they are working standing from bed in 5-5.30, going to work working from 7-7h, going home rest little bit eat shower and work for another 2-4hours.
during all those christmas days they had only christmas free, worked even on new year and 24.dec(sunday) and 26.dec.

they have to work a lot because they have to pay for lot of things: very 2million dollar houses, weekhouses, expensive collage for their kids because state collage is not on level, 3500$ dog....older cousin bough brand new bmw m4 which he never drive and it is parked in garage as toy. they each own expensive MB collection car from 1960s and 1970s
half of free time they had for christmas they have spend buying presents for family and people they care...instead of spending time together.
people that get those presents dont need them, this is wierd for me.
they are so much busy that family meets only once per year.
they are actually living 2weeks per year on vacation.

there are 4 brothers there, they are all rich, but their kids are struggling to keep up and they all work like 12-15hours per day.

you have people here that are working in state owned company working effectively 2-3hours per day ( my brother except in winter). people that get 10+ weeks of vacation. my conclusion is if we work that much in USA we will be all hungry.

my opinion is that their system of value is in disorder, i have no idea how other people in usa live but this is not what i would like for myself.

We work hard and long hours. 2 weeks off is the normal with 4 weeks max if you’ve been with company 20 years.

Local year round drivers (petroleum) make between $70,000 to maybe $100K max working as close to 70 hours a week as possible.

Local construction drivers make like $40k to $60k depends on how long you get laid off in the winter.

Over the road I can’t say the wage range.

I’m moving to Iceland... 10 weeks vacation and free health care. And those tall blonde females....:)

Spyder there's lots of company drivers out there that think $650 a week,is just how it is. I remember it was like that when I transitioned out of company driver to owner. I was mad because I was topped out and could barely make a $1,000 a week. Back when I first got into trucking we made $1,200 on bad weeks. Seems like progressively things just got worse. Economy had a lot to do with it but also it was like overall driver expectations became much lower. I would hate to be an employee driver again. 90% of them, guys don't get paid anywhere near what they ought to be. The ones that make great money are with LTL companies or Wal Mart. Typical freight and companies, the majority of jobs available, doesn't pay squat.

Gross.....Federal income tax is 20- 30% depending on deductions. No state/local income tax.
