Simple log 8.5 hours on duty per day for both drivers. You will not run out of hours. But remember this is only 17 hours per day 117 hours per week the truck can be ran to make money.
Here is a better answer 3 drivers running 8 hours out of every 24 hours.

3 drivers sharing a single truck running OTR?
    That is simply insane.

3 drivers in one truck would not make big money for each driver.

And making money should never be the goal in Life.

Johnson Motor Lines, Charlotte, NC ran a system with three drivers back in the 50's.
Might want to look up "Thruway J" on Hanks Old Truck pictures. Thruway "J"
Bottom of the text, lower left. Shows 3 drivers bouncing out to get aboard. All good drivers and ran as
wide open as old US 29 two lanes would allow.
How I know??? I was passed many times between Atlanta and Charlotte in 1955. JolliRoger

Making money may not be a life goal but it sure is a work goal.

I turned down a job becauae they wanted to put me in a truck with two other drivers for training. No way.

As to the OP, I've always done 10 hour shifts. Once I've done my 10 hour break I am ready to go. Personally, I like the staggered shifts instead of always running days or nights. Still had to take a rolling 34 occasionally. Usually did that leading up to home time.

This new job I am paid daily so it's not high on my list of worries. Running solo now so I guess I'll wait and see what the new guy wants to do.

I've never split sleeper birth while driving team. Didn't do it much for solo either.

There is nothing for me to contribute other than ancient history for teaming prior to the log HOS changes that imposes the 34, split and breaks etc. In my time we had straight 10 hours off in sleeper, straight 70 hour work week for each driver for a total of 140 hours possible out of 168 total in a week. And I think 10 hours driving max in a 14 hour day for each of us.

In that situation that truck never really stopped. It stopped for loading, unloading and a day each week for laundry, cleanup and so forth and maybe 15 minutes each 24 to 30 hours for fueling. Anything else we rolled.

What we did do is have one driver who likes mornings do that. I did the nights usually so it's a good balance. It does not always work out that way every day.

Our specialty was overnights high value medicine loads anywhere east of the Rockies out of Memphis. Overnight delivery in the sunrise back to memphis, drop hook and go deliver again next morning. 9-11 actually stopped us for about half a day total while we hid out in Stoney Ridge near Toledo at the TA there next to the toll road. And we took a special load out that had filled that trailer cubed out to the max in volume to Connecticut which was responsible for NYC and surrounding areas from Detroit. It was one of the few times we were diverted to some place other than Memphis. The value of that one can only be theoretical. I don't think there is enough money in the free world to buy such a load as that.

But anyway, that's our story. If we were able to stop one day or night per week, everything else fell into place and never ran out of hours working 6 days a week 24/7
