new panda is not going with image of someone who works in state owned company.Oxbow Thanks this. -

towplow is one of coolest things in truck industry but i am not sure how it will work in some very serious conditions.
there are 4 tires not 8 and axles and steering system are most probably european,
when you split pulling force into components you have root of 3/2 forward and 1/2 to left. lets say it drives at constant speed and that snow is uniform( less likely) so forces should be equal, lets forget bearing and tires drag..... add to that that cross force of resistance that snow create when hit snowblade at 30degrees and this is 1/2 of resistance force(equal to one that acts forward as it have constant speed) applied to snowblade....sum vectors and all together means you have huge amount of force that acts to left......that means high tire wear...
or in case of more serious conditions wheel slip to left. add to that that some snow or ice will be still under tires despite wing already passed in front of wheels. wheels are not passing same route as trucks wheels, and applied salt from truck cant react so fast....so in my opinion plowtow is not usable for any serious conditions.
effective width of cleaning is just 1feet better than with kahlbacher setup from few posts ago.
btw when it gets rough here side wing is not usable too too much drag vs power and traction despite winter tires and 6x6. i know one guy that clean highway in mountains, he says he can achieve 25mph under full power -

No, no room for a salt sprinkler. Dutch snow ploughs will almost always also carry a salt sprinkler.

Stupid snow plough. Most of the snow goes up into the air, instead of to the sides.Last edited: Jan 18, 2018

I agree. No reason to make things more complicated. The modest gain in performance and efficiency is not worth the extra cost, not just initial cost but maintenance and repairs.
