Even though prime is a mega and people bash them, they're a decent company and i can't imagine them not working with you. I drove for them and had an issue with my FM. I emailed the generic prime email on their website, I wasn't giving them the typical groaning and complaing but I was articulate in explaining what my issues were and to my suprise I had the head of the salt lake city terminal call me the next day to hear my story and then he conferenced called my fm and we were able to resolve everything. To this day prime gets respect in my book for that.

Also off topic I think they have an excellent student driver program compared to any other mega I've seen (never went thru it as a student but i've seen their curriculum)

Wow....What if going OTR to support his new family is the only choice this guy has? You RICHARD HEADS need to #### and not be so judgemental. Not everyone has a choice. Sometimes people are stuck doing what they have to and I EFFING HATE people that either don't realize this, or have forgotten it. Just answer dude's question (or don't) and keep your judgement to yourself.

    Just wow.....

That’s exactly it for me @WiggleWagon. I had to make a move fast and this is what I chose. I’m the type of guy who looks for a job that I think will turn into a career. I don’t like the idea of getting a #### job that I hate, just to make ends meet, only to quit 3 months later because I hate it and then repeat the process. I’ve had 2 jobs, with the exception of part time high school work. I worked one for 3 years and one for 7 years, both I loved but due to family or finances, I had to go a different direction. I researched trucking for probably 4 months before I ever made a call to a recruiter. I went to local schools and talked to people to see what they were about. The person I talked about it with most was my wife. We both new that we needed a little extra income, she knew of my interest in trucking and she supported it from day one of me ever considering it. She may sing a different tune 6 months down the road but at this early stage in our lives, we both felt that trucking could become a good fit for our family.

I for one respect your decision Captjimmy. You were dealt a hand with no real good answer and you made the decision you and your wife felt you had to make. You are being a responsible, hard working Father/Husband and I applaud you for that. I feel sure Prime will work with you on this. Communicate with them as soon as possible so a plan can be made. Best wishes and God bless!

You do know, that you and Mr @ZVar are on the same page, don’t you? Same thought, different words.

A woman responds according to the Man she’s with. If you are a Man of your word, and have always kept your word, and always done what you said you would do, she will manage and deal with things differently from the woman who has a guy that has shown in the past to screw up. If you’re rock solid and say to her, “I got you, baby”, she knows that you’re there...she doesn’t worry, because her Man has never let her down in the past. She’s cool. She will be just fine with him being gone. When she needs him, he will tell her, “I’m on my way.” And she won’t worry.

I like @captjimmy. Strikes me as being manly. Manly is always good. Makes the women and children feel safe. Mr @ZVar, when you see a guy standing up as a Man, give him the respect of a Man. Doesn’t matter if we agree or not. We don’t know his circumstances with his Lady. If bigdaddy says he’s got this, just wish him well.

@captjimmy, when you get your truck, put your name on the drivers door under the window. If I see you, I will buy you lunch.

    Luck in battle.

Actually no, our comments were not even remotely similar. I politely offered my advice from a lifetime of personal experience, the OP even thanked me for it.

Zvar was just being critical, and in a harsh demeaning way.

The OP will do what is best for his family, and whatever he decides that to be is perfectly fine with me. It's not my place to judge any man for doing what he thinks best. But as a man who had been there myself, I felt it might be helpful to offer a suggestion founded in experience. That is all.

As for you. Are you sure you're not just trying to make yourself feel better about something?

Zvar, in his opening post suggested to OP to post his location so that someone could perhaps point him to a local job. That’s far from being JUST critical and demeaning.

Just remember Captain, that there's nothing that will make your wife and kids feel safer than actually being there. Much success to you going forward, and may God watch over you and your family while you are away. That's sincerity, not snark.
