So I’m curious. I’m now on medication to keep my blood pressure under control. But let’s just say for whatever reason a year from now when I get my new card. My blood pressure is too high. I should get a 3 month card to get myself back into acceptable levels. Okay those three months go by my doctor increased my prescription and yay I’m able to get another one year card. Let’s say unfortunately a few years down the line it occurs again and my blood pressure is too high. Will I be able to receive another 3 month card? Or is it once in a lifetime or just once consecutively? Thanks.

I believe its the Dr. digression. i'd get serious about handling the blood pressure issue or it is likely this topic will be the least of your worries.
    Be safe..

Profile pic looks awfully young to be having those probs.
Get a full physical to make sure there's not an underlying problem.
If you've never had health issues before and are still new to trucking...
It's time to get serious about whatever you're doing. Bad habits out here are really easy to pick up, and harder to kick.
HBP = heart disease= premature death.

Check it out and fix it

    You're a youngster !!

I’m on Bp medicine now. Doctor has me on 10mg of lisinopril. I’ve had all blood work and full panel physicals and all done. Everything has checked out really good. The bp is really just because of my weight. I weight about 285,290 on a bad day. Trying to work on losing more to get it down. But I’m not a candidate for diabetes or any of that other stuff. I just have really bad anxiety as well so that could be another cause Of my BP. This whole post is literally me just worrying about me in a year from now when I go for my new dot card and being sent away lol...which of my Bp gets more out of wack and this dosage isn’t enough I’m sure my doctor will help take care of me. I’m 25 by the way.

And my Bp is usually in the 130/80 or 140/90 range so I’m kind of borderline

Not trying to be an asterisk or anything, but 295ish is kinda heavy for 25.
    In 10yrs you'll be 400#.
I've seen it happen 1,000 times.
It doesn't happen all at once.. it's a pound here, a pound there... and WHAM... you're in big trouble.

Unless you're 6'8" tall, you need to get serious and drop it or you will be seeing the diabetes symptoms.
    IT HAPPENS.

    Change the way you eat.
Park in the back of everything and walk.
    WALK SOME MORE.
    Drink water ONLY.
    No sugar.
Easy on the breads, and potatoes, and such because they TURN into sugar.

    Eat breakfast.
    Eat a lunch.
    Eat a dinner.

Always drink a bottle of water before you eat. It'll make you less hungry.

When you get the chance, just MOVE.
Walking is great. It works wonders.

One-year from now you could easily be 210lbs and never felt better not taking ANY meds.

Look around yourself at the drivers that don't take care of themselves and ask yourself if you want that for YOU.

I'm not trying to be a jerk.
I'm just giving guidance to a young driver before it's too late.

    YOU CAN DO THIS.

Get to your doctor 1-2 months before your next DOT physical to get your bp checked. If it is too high your meds can be adjusted well before you take the DOT physical.

Stop worrying so much, and start thinking!

Well o figured maybe save up an extra few dosages and take maybe like a dose and a half for the few days before my upcoming dot physicals in the future. But yeah that does Ease my mind. I have been working on weight loss. I’ve lost about 20lb since December 10. I was 304 then and was 287 a day or two ago. I see some videos of these 400, 500lb truckers and think that hey they must be having worse trouble than I am and they’re able to keep things under control to get a card still so I’m sure I’m just over thinking things a lot. But it’s still definitely something to not just forget about
