That was thanks to the 1400 mile empty trailer move back home. So far my best week but every week can't be like that. If I can gross 1000 a week minimum every week I'll be happy. Would like to get to 19d levels but it does not look like I'll be able to convince my DBL to let me just relay all my loads to stay running lol. I got $180 that week in detention pay alone due to all the sitting.
Had some drivers tell me to look at Highway Transport after I get some more tanker experience. They pay detention from minute 1 and most of their freight is no touch. They go to the same places we go to but have the customer unload them rather us do the unloading.
Starting with Schneider bulk

Lot of good companies in the Houston area r9 apply to when you get some experience. I don't want to jump ship again till I get a year experience in so will be staying here.
I'm putting a large amount of my income into savings. In 6 months I'll have a year worth of income saved up in case something happens. -
$1000 a week is peanuts. I was doing $1200 a week average pulling for FedEx, all drop and hook, 12-13 hours a day, out and back. Doing just shy of $1400 now, with 5, 10-12 hr days hauling gas/diesel, and if I work an extra day I can be close to $1700.
Juanthehumanoid and Tanker312 Thank this. -

I've been driving tractor trailer since 1983, when I owned my own truck, a GMC Astro. Sorta like an AMC Pacer on Steroids. Did some dump trucking for a few years before that. I've driven for Ryder, and a couple of local companies, been to both coasts, and into Canada.
I worked for a subcontractor, leased to a FedEx ground, for about 5 years, moved to fuel tanker for about $200 a week more, plus $4k sign on bonus.
Sorry, I hope I didn't sound nasty, just making a statement. And yes, I realize you need to pay your dues, and move steadily up the ladder. Get that 'sperience, and keep your eyes and ears open for opportunities.
You have a great attitude, keep it as long as you can. I still enjoy trucking, after all these years. -

Back up here in Ohio for a delivery. Most likely going to be doing runs out of Pennsylvania and back till my next hometime. That first hire on bonus should be rolling out anytime now. Started back in December and still have not seen it yet.

Must be slow around Cincinnati right now. Have a load ready for me at the tank wash where I'm at but does not deliver till Monday and it's only 260 miles away.
So I'm chilling right now and got a ubet to take me to this nice sushi restaurant near by. Not cheap either since I'll be dropping $60 it seems to eat here but you got to live a little.Juanthehumanoid Thanks this. -
This load is going to be all kinds of fun I can tell. Load will be offloaded into totes which I never done before and don't know what a rear pressure regulator is but it is required but what gets me is this. In the work order this load is not temp controlled but the bills say im must be at a certain temp which it is not since it had been sitting here 2 days. Also in bold letters the bills say the pump must be on the trailer. I have never seen a Schneider trailer with a pump attached and this is just your regular center load trailer. I can already tell I'm going to run into issues of some kind when I get to the customer on Monday.
Juanthehumanoid Thanks this.
