Well that is the beauty of this industry, you’ll find guys happy as can be at every place around. Even swift and England and western express have guys that are happy there. To me, I don’t see a problem in jumping around until you find some place that works for you.

My delivery in Houston was one of my longest in terms of being delayed...but yet, I still am not unhappy. Got there at 645 (for an 8 am appt.), was trying to pull out of their yard at around 1600. Like the old saying goes, sometimes you're the bug...sometimes you're the windshield...I guess as the Magnum cult members put it, that customer just bought me a steak dinner. So, naysayers, when a company treats the driver right, the occasional "it's just trucking" bump in the road hits, like a long unload, it doesn't get me wound up like it use to....I'm happy here...:biggrin_2559:

I always believed in you ;)

Glad that you found your place and that it works out for you.

Think I saw a Freightliner from Moore last week on I-76 to Denver? Thought you have only Macks?

It's a shame that they have no terminal in the West, I would send in my application immediately.

They have some O/O's, probably one of those guys. All our company trucks are Swedish Dogs (Mack and some Volvos). It depends on where in the west. We go to SLC a good bit, and I have a file folder of directions, and quite a few customers in Cali, but I don't know for sure that they still go out there. Although that might change...word is they are adding even more trucks because the rumor is they are wanting to put Maverick out of the glass hauling business.

Cali would be perfect for me, I live now just a few miles North of I-40, 35 miles East of Albuquerque.
Who knows what happens in the future...

Are you allowed to use tire chains when you’re loaded?

I have to say, your thread is quite interesting to read. I always wondered what kind of magic they kept under those curtains! Consider me subscribed/watching/whatever.

An I'd also like to point out..This bird did not agree with being the early bird..

They're like Crete and most other companies, if it's bad enough to chain, they prefer you park it. They really don't want you to run in that bad of road conditions. They don't forbid you from running with chains, but would rather you didn't. It's more of an issue of the possibility of ditching it or being hit rather than a glass breakage issue. This stuff is pretty tough, I have made several trips down US 69/75 between Big Cabin and Dallas without any issues. If it can survive that road, surviving a short run chained up couldn't be worse.
