Waiting to see how this turns out. Proven financially irresponsible driver ushered into a lease / op situation with no skin in the game.

    Good luck!

This one is 3200 AR to NJ 1250 Miles. The driver gets 22% of the revenue.

It won’t be quick. I told him I won’t move it into a lease until he has 10k in the bank. I’ll help him but he needs to have the funds so that one breakdown doesn’t put him out of business.

Things went to Hell real quick. The turbo just went out in the second truck. I found a guy that has the parts and says he can fix it first thing in the morning. Doesn’t sound like it will cost a lot of time but it will cost a lot of money. I was hoping to get a couple months out of it before maintenance started rolling in but it doesn’t look like I’ll get that luxury.

It’s getting worse. Guy shows up much later than promised and this turbo is much more expensive than I expected. I called around to make sure this guy wasn’t trying to screw me and it really the price he gave me. This is a huge blow. The final bill on this is going to massive. First load with this truck and it’s going to cost me a boat load.

    I know what you feel.
When my turbo went out (on my ISX 2008) in LA I paid about 6 grand - it was not even dealership shop. That was turbo and actuator. In the older truck 2004 -two years earlier, the replacement was 3.5K.

Not that I know of. I subscribed to a service called Iron Apple and they provide all the forms you need. There is an online portal you use and everything is cloud based. You pay 600 a year. So far no one has asked for these documents but I have everything for when the day comes they start asking. All it takes is one more out break of ecoli spinach or something and everyone’s going to be asking for your food safety procedures and records on every load. Just my opinion.

That’s about what this is going to be. Around 6 grand total. Not something I’d expect on a 430k mile truck. The truck I traded awhile back had 707k on it and had the original turbo.
