Since I'm not a pilot I did a Google search...

Can planes land by themselves? A look at aircraft automatic landings. | FlightDeckFriend.com

A vineyard autopilot is a complete diferent cookie. The vinerows never change. Im talking about traditional farming, rice/beans/wheat/corn/milo and such. It will never happen.

As much as I hate to see this come to fruition I think I need to start buying some stock in these companies that are working on this tech... At least then I can say I still earn my income with a truck.

Actually they do they can preprogram the combine through a GPS. Itll keep in line going down the rows. Helps to get a better perfect cut.

But they still need a human driver in a combine or a tractor

Not for long... I think its CaseIH that has built a few tractors that don't even have a place for a driver to sit, or controls for a driver to control the tractor... Its all done with GPS, computers, and some remote control... But from my understanding the remote control is for programming more than anything. Ill have to see if I can find a link to it.

    Edit to add link:

yup as soon as the plane is headed down the run they can use it, landing as soon as it sets down it turns it back to the pilots

After trying to build self-driving tractors for more than 20 years, John Deere has learned a hard truth about autonomy
