What I'm saying is people want to know other people's experiences, but they get opinions instead. That's what this forum has become... judgements and opinion forcing.

When I order chicken cordon blue, I don't want a lecture from my waiter of how that meal is unsafe if I have heart disease. I don't want suggestions on how the beef stroganoff down the street is so much better. Good God, man, just give me what I ask for, or shut the hell up!

What if you asked multiple waiters on a public forum if it's a good idea or bad idea to get that meal?

I do get your point about most of these threads though, but the poster left it open for opinions

    Knucklehead Thanks this.

This might not be the answer to your lease question, but depending on your experience and where you live, you might could land a decent gig hauling dedicated automotive from places in Indiana or Michigan to Nissan in Tenn or Miss. The Nissan plant in Mississippi is off at least one month a year for re-tooling and maintenance, but the rest of the year our OTR guys running dedicated Michigan or Indiana get between 3400-3600 miles a week at 40 cpm plus another $100 a week in bonuses. Home every other day and off weekends.
Light empty racks going out, loaded coming back. One hour window to pick up and allowed to leave if it's not ready at our company. Check out Carter Express, Star Transportation. Even US Express has trailers there. Hope it helps.

    Mikey32142 Thanks this.

Yeah, I just noticed that question hidden among others... is this even a good idea nowadays. My apologies.

    Hi!
What did the OP decide to do? Also, if you did the LP program how is it going so far and would you recommend it?

Hi there, I am currently a company driver for a local company. Have not looked into it any further yet. Would need a really good opportunity for me to jump.

    Lets see...
    Weekly payments.√
    $1.30 a mile.√
    3000 miles every week.
    Never go home.√
$3900 a week if your dispatcher is any good.√
    $1200 a week fixed cost.√
    3000 miles x8 mpg x$3 per gallon= $1175 fuel.√
    Gross to truck...$1500.√
    Taxes?

Do you think Colonial Freight Systems is ok for lease/purchase?
Being from Tennessee, I've seen their trucks around all my life.

Good stuff! Thanks. Called them yesterday just for info, haven’t made a decision yet. There is not a lot of current information out there on the current lease program. Could be a good thing or not!

Ok. Are you currently on the L/P program with USXpress?
