Should I buy a 1.35 million mile Cummings isx?

ok, so im close to buying a 1.4 mil mile Cummings in a 08 Volvo it has had almost everything done on it in the last several years with receipts (trans, trans computer?, egr components, brakes, suspension, sensors, etc) which is why I’m leaning towards buying it. Also to note owner says check engine light has been on for years noted in receipts because of having installled a new ECM but when it was flashed it added 400k miles so it’s technically only 1 milllion miles?? I never heard of that but ok... receipts back up the claim! Now my concern is I have a Cummings isx. In a 09 prostar now with 400k and so far so good except these are soot dominant engines and I just had to do my egr cooler, egr sensors on my mine and it’s back to ruining A1 again. So my question is: I would imagine in a high mileage Cummings isx it would have to be ugly looking on the inside and even though accessories/external components have been change can I trust the internals (top end/bottom end) or am I just being to paranoid and scary with all the work that has gone into it?

 

Well it’s around 10k just under and the only issue with an oil sample/dyno is who pays for it most likely the owner won’t pay for it $550 But they probably won’t have an issue with it I’m sure but I don’t see them paying for it. But that sounds like a good idea

Yea I just let them know I was advised to do a dyno .... Yea I thought I was the Engine whisperer but this ain’t no used car!

 

How guys get away with buying trucks with no dyno/oil sample I don’t know but I see it all the time but I can’t afford to risk it thanks fellas
