I have a "load" I need moved but I'm not a broker, where can I post it?

    Absolutely, I'm just having trouble seeing how moving a van load 200 miles costs so much. I see your point about the labor (but i would also question how much those laborers actually get paid...) and the expertise needed to handle HHG. I'm getting some quotes from movers so I'll see just how far out of touch I was with my 4k.

    The only thing going up in the moving business is labor rates. Used to be 15- 18 an hour now the first words out of there mouth is $1/ hundred wt. minimum. Just like most O/O. We do t work cheap lol. That being said how much do you really have to move? How far?

    How about 2 PODS delivered....left on site....loaded at your leisure.....picked up and dropped off at new location?

    They are downsizing from a 4 bedroom to a smaller 2 bedroom in a 55+ community. I'd say their bedroom, plus an extra bedroom set for the guest room, then your standard living room/dining room/tv etc. Maybe 10k lbs? They've gotten rid of A LOT of stuff and plan to get rid of more furniture and such since their new house is around half the size of the current. And its only going 200 miles, door to door.

    Thats not a bad idea, but I would need someone to pack and load them. I don't want them moving anything, too old for that.

    Call your local 2 men and a truck type moving place. They hire out day labor to pack/unpack by the hour. At least they do around here.

    Go rent a dry Van. I know what your saying. But we all know it's about the time the truck is tied up. Plus 20 bucks an hour labor. Call 2 men and a truck see what there charge is Good luck
