    Um NO!

    There are some smaller dispatching companies out there that are netting descent rates to the truck.

    Bigger places that are still viable would be Landstar or Mercer.

    Sni choice program has been gutted, so is no longer viable......

    Do some research. That was my first Trucking job back when Prime was governed at 75. They take so many different cuts of the pie that you will be surprised. Really.

    For me Prime does not have significant freight near me.

    The couple of times I have talked to Prime Lease Ops the truck costs were sucking out their revenue and they were not booking enough revenue to the truck each week. I have talked with one (1) Prime O/O that believed he was doing good but his truck was paid off and he was being harassed by management to upgrade to a new truck.

    It's probably a feature on the scanguage. I don't know that for sure, I've never had one or even seen one, just a stab in the dark.

    The problem with Prime is that Rob Lowe set it up like a new car dealer. Each and every department is considered a "profit center". It's one thing to make money for your boss, but he's aptly named, he Rob(s) you Lowe and High and in the Middle too. The Lease Truck. He makes a bundle. The Insurance. He makes a profit. The rates they pay are often very low and I have little doubt that they aren't double brokered. At least at times. Nothing wrong with him making a profit but most Leases dump the responsibility on the Driver without a fair and equitable deal in return. You can ( and in my case, I always have ) make as much or more money with more time off and less miles driven than at Prime. It's not very hard to do better than Prime. Honestly. Now I've had almost as bad of jobs but they always had something better as a deal that more than made up for it. You're reading a great thread to learn from. There's others here too.
