Fitzgerald can supply you with a brand new rolling glider. If I'm correct, that means the rears are brand new. I would purchase it through Thompson Caterpillar and put in a rebuilt 6NZ C15 and your choice of transmission. I'm in NY where many companies have purchased from Fitzgerald and Thompson. Fitzgerald' engine of choice are Detroit's. Many of the drivers prefer the cat motor. Thompson is not far from Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald Gliders might be getting more attention than they’d like

A rebuilt engine is not going to have perfect tolerances like a new motor.
They don't rebuild every motor factory fresh..I'd bet most are installed without even a look see. -
Fitzgerald Glider Kits specializes in installing the remanufactured main components (engine, transmission and/or rear ends) from a donor truckthat was either wrecked or unsafe forthe road, into a new cab and chassis

You are.incoreect every motor is rebuilt to better than factory specs and so are rolling components I was leased on to fleet that ran them they held up better then the new trucks the company ran
-
I know that Detroit is now casting blocks, new old stock. So, in many cases, you may just be getting a very fresh motor.
-
I see how many people it takes to build a truck..deliver to Kenworth in Ohio, quite often...not going to install remanufactured to save a few dollars.
