Is it even possible to keep idle under 5% in the northesst?

I have an apu and I only idle about 20 minutes in the morning to warm up and about 5 minutes to cool down .
I run around 5 pct idle time .

 

Ok, it's on now Jack, I'll figure out how to come in under that...lol.

Since you have an apu should be easy. Just turn the truck off every time you stop for any length of time.

 

My idle time in the winter would be #### near zero if my oil cooler wouldn’t leak coolant when the engine cools down. #### Cats.

 

Whats really bad is that the driver probably god paid an idle bonus for doing that. some bean counter is happy.

 

Believe it or not, they teach that in China at driving schools.
"At traffic lights, put transmission in neutral, set parking brake, shut engine off."

 

Several companies don't even run Northeast and use that as a recruiting tool.
